Basic Service Question

What is HiBeads Studio?

HiBeads Studio is Round Rock's premier DIY fused bead crafting studio where guests ages 8+ can create pixel art using nearly 300 bead colors in both mini beads (2.6mm) and maxi beads (5mm). We provide all tools, materials, and workspace for hands-on crafting sessions in a safe, family-friendly environment.

What ages can participate in fused bead workshops?

We welcome guests ages 8 and older. Children under 8 years old cannot participate for safety reasons. Ages 8-12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian (one adult per child). Ages 12+ can participate independently with emergency contact information on file.

Do you teach classes or is it self-guided?

Our workshops are self-guided DIY experiences. We provide all materials, tools, and workspace, but guests create their own designs at their own pace. Our trained staff provides assistance when needed and handles all heat press operations for safety.

What can I create at HiBeads Studio?

You can create over 20 different finished products including keychains, wall art, coasters, magnets, and more. Popular projects include anime characters, gaming pixel art, custom portraits, and original designs using our nearly 300 bead colors in mini and maxi sizes.

How many bead colors do you have?

We stock nearly 300 different bead colors - the largest selection in the Austin area! This extensive color palette allows for incredibly detailed pixel art and precise color matching for any design you can imagine.

Bead Types and Technical Details

What's the difference between mini beads and maxi beads?

Mini beads (2.6mm): Recommended for advanced crafters and adults. Create more detailed, intricate pixel art with finer resolution.
Maxi beads (5mm): Perfect for beginners and children ages 8-12. Easier to handle and safer for younger crafters. Both sizes available in nearly 300 colors.

Which bead size should I choose for my project?

We recommend:
Mini beads (2.6mm): Adults and experienced crafters wanting detailed, professional-looking results
Maxi beads (5mm): Beginners, children ages 8-12, or anyone wanting easier handling and quicker projects
Our staff can help you choose the best size for your skill level and project goals.

Can I mix mini beads and maxi beads in one project?

Mini beads and maxi beads are different sizes and cannot be mixed in the same project. However, you can create multiple projects using different bead sizes during your visit.

Safety and Rules

Are mini beads safe for children?

Mini beads (2.6mm) are smaller and require more careful handling. We recommend maxi beads (5mm) for children ages 8-12 for safety reasons. Mini beads are better suited for teens and adults who can handle the smaller pieces safely.

No outside food or open beverages are allowed in the studio to maintain a clean crafting environment and prevent accidents with materials.

What happens if I don't finish my project?

Unfinished projects are stored on our pegboards for your next visit. Members' projects receive priority storage. We'll iron/fuse your completed pieces before you leave (approximately 5 minutes per project).
